Framing Assignment

Idea 1:

Emotions are a key part of what makes us human and helps us interact with the world that is around us. However in 2039, the world had found out that consuming media directly damages the part of the brain responsible for feelings and emotional responses. The world found out too late and sooner or later, the world’s population was unable to produce any emotions. Everyone could not feel anything. This disease does not have a cure and the population had to learn how to live without emotion.

To capitalize on this, major corporations hired the best scientists to create a serum that would allow you to have emotional responses but only for a period of time. The serum was supposed to be accessible to the entire world, however, because of the cost of the materials necessary to make the serum, it was only available to those who can afford the price. This causes an even further divide between the poor and the rich.

Slowly over time, people are divided into two groups, the emotional and emotionless. Slowly, overtime, the suicide rate of the entire world rapidly increased because the emotionless saw no point in living this world because they could not experience anything without feeling empty.

Message: The message would be a link to the serum product. As well as statistics that show the increasing number of suicides occurring the world.

Idea 2:

Tesla has finally made it possible for people to access their memories and relive them through some cutting edge technology. This machine has encapsulated the entire world and every household in the world has put these machines inside of their homes. Through these machines, you can access any memory possible, from your first moments of kindergarten to the moment you had your first girlfriend. This was a machine that was cheap to make and therefore it was accessible to every person in the world.

The memory machine was such a success and Tesla made billions off their product. However, what they didn’t see coming was the fact that the entire world had shut down because everyone was in their homes living out these memories. The world was officially stuck in the past and no progress was being made towards a better future.

The invention made by Tesla was created in 2020 and by 2039, the entire world was still on pause and no advancements towards a better future were made.

Message:

Luckily, there is a select few people that saw no point in the memory machine so they created an organization that would fight against this machine. So The message would be a brochure that is against the Tesla-machine. that shows the effects of the machine.

Idea 3:

In 2039, scientists have found a way to control your emotions a 100% of the time. You can control everything through a simple app on your phone and chip in your brain. Slowly overtime, the government has seen this product as something that can advance our future because emotional control leads to productivity and no conflicts. Eventually, the government makes everyone have the chip inside their brains. In addition, they take away the users ability to control their emotions. The government sets the default emotion to happiness causing the entire population to only be happy.

We are now in a society where sadness, frustration, and any negative emotion ceases to exist. There have a great strives in overall human advancement, however the human race has been reduced to robot-like creatures. Everyone has become the same person expressing the same emotions. What it means to be human is no longer an answer that can be found within this time.
