Phoebe- I really enjoyed her selection of objects for this assignment. Her explanations of all the items really gave me a clear understanding of why they are important in her life. I thoroughly enjoyed the backstory behind her plants. Her backstory behind the Aloe Vera plant really reminds of my grandmother as well and the memories I have had as well. I am super glad that she has kept something to constantly remind her of family. It's great to hear that she is going to take her plants wherever she goes in the world :) Oh also, it's amazing that she does horseback riding! I have met only a handful of people who partake in this hobby so I am impressed that she has such a unique hobby!

Micah- First, I thought it was very clever to make a stop motion video to display the three objects. It shows a lot of patience and effort to sit there and take so many photos. She had three items in her video, a key chain from home, her gaming devices, and Japanese reading material. In reference to her key chain, I am also from California and I believe it is important to bring things that remind you of home especially since it is far away. For me, my In n Out shirt always brings me back. I found her Japanese books to be quite interesting. She mentioned that it was to help her maintain her Japanese, but I see is that most people watch some sort of entertainment instead. Props to her for choosing the route to READ and not just watch/listen.

Mariam- In her video, she displays her Nike Air Force shoes, her camera, and painting she made. I really enjoyed the painting she made and the description she gave for that. I am in agreement that your work can display a lot about your character and your personality. In this, I believe her painting as given me a little insight into who she is as person. In addition, I also enjoy the work of Piet Mondrian because of his simple color palette and basic shapes. Also, as a photographer myself, it is always to great to hear when someone finds that photography allows them to express themselves. I hope she continues to take more photos throughout the year because I need to do that as well!
